A life-long resident of Woburn, Mary Laing devoted her time and energy to serving her

community. In her 35 years at Council of Social Concern Mary made a lasting impact on

Woburn and Winchester residents. In her honor, Council of Social Concern will be awarding

two annual scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to students in our communities who

demonstrate a commitment to their community and feel a sense of responsibility to help

their neighbors.

Eligibility Requirements:

– A graduating high school senior who resides or attends school in Woburn or Winchester,

MA

– A student in good academic standing

– A documented history of public service

– A plan to continue their education (College or University, Community College,

Trade/Vocational School)

-High School Transcript

-Recommendation(s) from a teacher or individual with knowledge of your community service

-A short written or video essay
